Thoughts

It has been a long day but I am still unable to sleep, since this tour has began we have had the good fortune to meet so many wonderful people who opened up their homes ,hearts, and communities to us, a choir based in Munich, Germany travelling through Newfoundland. This Salt Water Joys Tour of Newfoundland and Labrador is an cultural and musical exchange between the Munich Youth Choirs and the people of this beautiful land, we have come in contact with. The love and celebration of music is what joins us together. While the choirs are here our goal is to have them immersed in our culture, way of life and thinking to give them a better idea about us. We all learn about ourselves and our culture by meeting people from another part of the world. It is through these meetings that we open up opportunities to create understanding and respect between people. This is good for all and should be encouraged more often. When the choirs return to Munich, they will have many wonderful experiences, new friends, an understanding of our culture(as we will of theirs) and links to our land that will stay with them forever.  I encourage you to come out and hear them sing. You will enjoy it!
